Overlord: A Review

Four soldiers are forced to face a number of Nazi soldiers after their plane crashed in "Overlord".

After their plane crashed, Corporal Ford and Privates Boyce, Tibbet and Chase are forced to finished their mission to destroy a German radio tower. Unknowing to them that the German is developing a serum that can resurrect dead people and turn them into vicious zombies. Practically left with no choice, the four soldiers must infiltrate the tower to destroy the lab and finish the job.

"Overlord" has one major sin: it takes too long to establish itself.

With an almost 2 hours runtime the movie is filled with boring expositions and deus ex machina moments that when the super zombie soldier action began, it easily turns sour and dull.

Frankly, "Overlord" has no compelling scene despite having great potential. The message about breaking that "this is the job" order sticks for a while though but it didn't linger for long. It also feels unsure whether it believes in war or not from what it looks like, this film is sure for one thing only, it's all for body horror gore.

I guess this film is not wholly thought through as the plot feels uninspired and messy. If only "Overlord" breaks free from its own reservations, it can be more dreadful and scary. War is already terrifying then imagine having hundreds of super zombies running around in the battlefield, it's a sure action-horror movie masterpiece.
